Fear of Heights Video Coaching

Fear of Heights Video Coaching

Your first steps beyond the fear of heights – personal, location-independent, on a video call

You struggle with a fear of heights but aren't sure where to start? Or you live too far away to join an in-person training in Switzerland? In a personal video call, we'll work out together what triggers your fear of heights – and you'll leave with concrete techniques and an individual plan, wherever you live.

Vertigo and fear of falling are a natural protective reaction – but when they overreact, they steal the joy of hiking. In a 1:1 video call, we take a close look at what specifically triggers your fear of heights, and you get the first effective tools to stop it from taking the wheel.

In the video coaching, we work on three things:

  • Assessment: We go through your past experiences together and identify what specifically triggers your fear of heights – for example, missing visual reference points, certain types of terrain, or unstable ground.
  • First techniques: You'll learn 2–3 techniques tailored to your pattern – such as the fixed-point technique against a drifting gaze, targeted breathing control, or using a companion as a visual reference point.
  • Your plan: You leave the call with a written, individual practice plan – including an honest assessment of whether independent practice is enough, or whether in-person training is the sensible next step.

This isn't about "curing" you – a video call can't replace the real experience on the mountain. But it's a low-threshold first step: understanding your pattern, concrete tools, and clarity about the path that's right for you.

Personal advice

Do you have any questions? I will be happy to advise you on this travel offer.

Part 1 – Assessment (approx. 15 min.)

  • Your past experiences: where, when, and how does the fear show up?
  • Trigger analysis: more visual (missing reference points, open views), ground-related (scree, steep terrain), or situational (bridges, ridges)?
  • What have you tried so far, and what has helped?

Part 2 – Technique coaching (approx. 20 min.)

  • Techniques suited to your pattern, e.g. the fixed-point technique against a drifting gaze, controlled breathing, or using a companion as a visual reference point
  • Discuss together how and when to apply the technique in practice

Part 3 – Your plan (approx. 10 min.)

  • Concrete next steps for your upcoming hikes
  • Assessment of whether independent practice is enough, or in-person training makes sense
  • If of interest: a look at the 2-day Fear of Heights Training in Switzerland

The call takes place comfortably from home – wherever you live, whether in Switzerland, the UK, or the US. The only requirement is a stable internet connection and 45 uninterrupted minutes. We're happy to work around your time zone when scheduling.

  • A quiet place without distractions
  • Laptop or tablet with a camera (video recommended, but not required)
  • Headphones, for better audio quality (optional)
  • If available: a photo or short description of a spot where your fear of heights last came up – this helps us work in a targeted way
  • Notepad for your individual practice plan

None – the price is all-inclusive with no extra charges.

Who is this for?
