Weekend hike to the Sanetsch Pass

Our hike starts just before the Barrage de Tseuzier. From the Les Rousses ski station, we begin our ascent to the Labane des Audannes. This leads us into the huge and impressive basin below the Rawilhorn, where we can see the traces of a huge landslide. After a steep ascent into the karst area around the hut, we reach it in the early afternoon.

We round off the day with a delicious dinner at the hut.

Sunday

• Hiking time: ca. 6-7 hours

After a tasty breakfast, we set off on an exciting new adventure! We're turning our backs on the Cabane des Audannes and making our way towards the Sanetsch Pass. On our hike there, we'll be treated to a breathtaking panoramic summit high above Anzére before we tackle the exhilarating descent through the scree flanks of the Col des Audannes. As we pass other lakes, we reach the Sanetsch Pass, from where we descend to the reservoir as time allows. To finish our hiking day, we can stop off at the lovely L'Auberge du Sanetsch, and then later take the bus back down to Sion!

The region between Lac de Tseuzier and the Sanetsch Pass offers impressive alpine landscapes with striking rock formations, blue mountain lakes and extensive high plateaus. The hiking trails lead through varied nature and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. An ideal area for all those who want to experience the beauty of the Alps in tranquil, untouched nature.

The Cabane des Audannes is picturesquely situated on a high plateau and offers an impressive panoramic view of the surrounding Valais Alps. The cozy mountain hut is an ideal place to relax after a challenging hike and experience the tranquil beauty of nature.

A delicious dinner and a hearty breakfast await you at the Cabane des Audannes. You should bring your own food and drink for the day.

You can pre-order a packed lunch for Sunday and receive it at the hut.

Clothing and footwear

• Hiking pants and functional clothing for hiking
• Rain jacket and rain pants
• Hiking boots with a good grip
• Backpack for day trips (approx. 20 - 30 liters)
• Optional hiking poles

Please bear in mind that even in summer the weather conditions in the mountains can change quickly. You should therefore be equipped for sun and clouds, storms and rain in equal measure.

Refueling on the way

• Dinner and breakfast are included in the overnight stay
• At the hut there is the possibility to get a picnic for the second day. You can order this directly with your registration.
• You are responsible for your own food, such as muesli bars, chocolate or whatever your heart desires on hikes.
