The story of beAnywhere

Sometime in 2012, we came up with the idea of recording our mountain tours and travels on what was then still a private website and making it available to friends and acquaintances. Under the name and domain steinmanndli.ch, the first version of the website went online and over the years filled up with lots of posts about mountain tours, ski tours, hikes, and travels.

On countless mountain tours in the Alps, both in summer and winter, we continue to expand our experience in mountain sports and accumulate altitude meters, kilometers, and experiences in an unforgettable environment.

This is followed by several extended trips lasting several months to the north, where we explore Norway's unique regions in particular and enjoy many hiking tours under the Scandinavian midnight sun.

On our varied mountain tours, we gain experience that will also be useful later on during guided tours. We are out and about in all four seasons and get to know many areas throughout the Alps and as far north as Norway.

The photographic component becomes more important and Falko acquires a wealth of knowledge about professional landscape and outdoor sports photography. On photo tours in the Alps and Scandinavia, he takes impressive pictures and panoramic shots, some of which will later win awards at renowned international photography competitions.

We have been living in the Valais Alps since 2021, which means that beAnywhere has also moved to the heart of Switzerland's highest mountains. The unique natural environment and diverse terrain offer almost endless options for trail running and hiking tours, skiing and snowshoeing in winter, as well as high-altitude tours to the 4,000-meter peaks around Saas Fee, Zermatt, and over to the nearby Mont Blanc massif near Chamonix.

In 2022, we will be carrying out a complete relaunch and rebranding. Steinmanndli will become beAnywhere with the domain of the same name. We are also completely redesigning the website using state-of-the-art technologies, thereby creating a scalable foundation for the further development of beAnywhere as a provider of unique and personalized outdoor experiences.

The range of tours offered by beAnywhere is growing and will continue to expand. The focus is on hiking, trail running courses, and photography workshops, in which we accompany our guests on their outdoor adventures with passion and initiative.

We are constantly training to ensure the safety and highest quality of our services. We are both training to become UIMLA guides, the highest internationally recognized qualification for mountain leaders and hiking guides. Marina is completing this training with the Swiss Mountain Guides Association (SBV), while Falko is training with the Association of German Mountain and Ski Guides (VDBS). In addition, Falko is certified as a trail running guide by Swiss Athletics and is aiming to qualify as a federally certified snow sports instructor with a focus on cross-country skiing.

Falko's impressive photographic works have been nominated and awarded at international photography competitions such as the Prix de la Photographie Paris and the Fine Art Photography Awards. We pass on his extensive knowledge as a photographer in our photography workshops, combining our alpine experience with access to unique photo locations and unforgettable moments in our mountain world.

In 2025, beAnywhere Kollektivgesellschaft will be officially founded and entered in the commercial register. With this step, we are moving further toward becoming a professionally managed outdoor sports company, ensuring even more expertise, safety, and unique experiences for our customers, whether private guests or corporate clients.
