The artwork story

The Weissmies rises above the Saas Valley like a silent titan, its white shoulders parting the clouds. In this monochrome interplay of light and shadow, the four-thousand-meter peak appears like an ancient guardian watching over the valleys of Valais. The glacier draws its lines across the mountain, fine lettering in a frosty chronicle written by millennia of snow and wind.

Between wisps of fog and patches of sunshine, the silhouettes of alpinists stand out tiny – wandering dots in the face of infinity. Their ascent seems like a dialogue between man and mountain, a silent struggle, a reverent step up to a summit that sometimes reveals itself only in the whisper of the clouds.

The scenery thrives on its drama: towers of clouds rise, break on the flanks of the Weissmies and flow downhill like soft veils. For a brief moment, the light opens up, touches the snowy peak and makes the summit shine like a crown forged from the purest ice.
