We are often asked, “What does your name actually mean?” So it's time to shed some light on the matter and tell you how the name Be Anywhere came about and what it means to us.
From name to meaning
In our logo and website address (www.beanywhere.ch), we opted for the hyphenated form beAnywhere—modern, clear, and internationally understandable.
Admittedly, when written in lowercase, beanywhere sometimes raises a smile, because beany is the English adjective for "lively, crazy, mad" or can also mean "beans". But instead of getting annoyed about it, we take it with humor—because anyone who knows us knows that we take life in the mountains seriously, but not ourselves. And there is a bit of truth in the crazy part...
Be Anywhere as motivation
With our guided hikes, snowshoe tours, and trail running courses, we want to motivate people to break out of their everyday routines, discover new things, and surpass themselves. Whether it's through greater safety when hiking, better technique when trail running, or increased confidence when planning your own snowshoe tours.
"Be Anywhere" symbolizes setting off into the unknown, having the courage to leave familiar paths behind and dare to try something new. The "Anywhere" doesn't have to be far away: sometimes an unknown peak, a lonely path, or a different perspective on a familiar landscape is enough. Be anywhere – be somewhere where you feel alive.
Be Anywhere as inspiration
We can't always just set off. But even in everyday life, we can be somewhere, in our thoughts, in our plans, or as inspiration. Our online magazine invites you to do just that: it is a growing collection of stories, tips, and reports about mountain sports, trail running, and travel with a special focus on the Alpine region and Scandinavia. If you browse through it, you will find ideas and inspiration for your very own Be Anywhere – today, tomorrow, or sometime in the future.
Be Anywhere as a motto for life
The name came about during one of our longer trips, a work and travel tour through Norway in a van, with a stay of several weeks in Lofoten and countless moments in the endless light of the north. One day, we found ourselves in the middle of a whiteout at the Arctic Circle. No visibility, just snow, wind, and silence—and suddenly, nowhere had become somewhere.
At that moment, we knew what drives us:
Be Anywhere. Be somewhere. Feel alive.
