Otta is the Norwegian name of a long river that feeds from the mountains of the Breheimen and Jotunheimen National Park region and the peaks around Geirangerfjord. This river, which joins the Lågen River at the place of the same name after a long journey east, is known for its extremely blue and turquoise water. This coloration is caused by algae that enters the river during glacial melt and contributes to this striking impression, especially in the alluvial plains of Billingsdalen.

Our picture was taken on a late summer evening in the last light of day and shows off this color very well in stark contrast to the orange glowing sky. At this point, the river finds its way through the boulder-strewn riverbed towards the valley. You can buy this motif in different sizes and on various materials and get an eye-catcher in your premises, which will leave a soothing and relaxing impression.
